Where to Stay in Seville (First-Timer's Guide): The Best Hotels for Orange Blossom Season and Beyond
Seville is our My Pick for February, and late winter is one of the best times to be there. Days are mild, the crowds of spring haven't arrived, and in late February and March the city's thousands of orange trees start to blossom, filling the streets with the scent of azahar. When we went in February, we did have to wear coats but it was better than the crowded, super-hot summer; although, the beauty of Sevilla is worth it anytime of year.
For a first visit, stay in or near Santa Cruz, the old Jewish quarter next to the cathedral and the Alcázar. It's beautiful, central and walkable. El Arenal, between the cathedral and the river, is a close second. Triana, across the river, is more local and great for food, but slightly further from the big sights.
Here are the best places to stay in Seville, chosen for different travelers and different priorities. Planning for Feria de Abril? That week is a different reality, with different prices and a different map, so it gets its own guide.
Best Location: Hospes Las Casas del Rey de Baeza
Hospes Las Casas del Rey de Baeza is a historic courtyard house in Santa Cruz, with whitewashed patios, a rooftop pool and a spa. Everything in the old town is an easy walk away.
It's the kind of hotel that makes you feel like you're staying in Seville, not just visiting it.

Best Value: Hotel Amadeus Sevilla
Hotel Amadeus sits in Santa Cruz with a rooftop terrace looking out at the Giralda, at rates well below the big names in the area.
It's small, charming and right in the middle of everything, which is exactly what a first-timer in Seville needs.
Best for Families: Palacete Molina
Palacete Molina offers apartment-style rooms for up to six, with two bedrooms, a living area and a fully equipped kitchen, in the heart of the city near the cathedral, the Alcázar and the Parque de María Luisa.
For families, that's the winning combination: space to spread out, breakfast and snacks on your own schedule, and the park and Plaza de España within walking distance for when the kids need to run.
Luxury: Hotel Alfonso XIII
The Alfonso XIII is Seville's grand hotel, a 5-star palace built for the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition, right next to the Alcázar and the old Royal Tobacco Factory. Its tiled courtyards and Moorish-revival architecture are an attraction in themselves.
For a special trip, there's nothing in Seville to match it.
Most Unique: Hotel Simón
Hotel Simón is a traditional Sevillian mansion turned hotel, set around a classic patio a short walk from the cathedral, and each room is different in size and decoration.
It's old-fashioned in the best way, with tiles, plants and the feel of old Seville, and it's affordable for the location.
