Where to Stay in Valencia for Las Fallas: The Best Hotels for Every Traveler

4 min read

Las Fallas is our March pick for Unique Experience Seekers, and we say that as people who live in the province of Valencia. For the first three weeks of March the city builds hundreds of enormous satirical sculptures, sets off a ground-shaking mascletà in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento every afternoon, and on the night of March 19, La Cremà, burns almost all of it to the ground.

The honest part: Fallas is loud, crowded and goes on late, prices rise, and central hotels book up months ahead. Where you stay decides whether that energy is the best thing about your trip or the reason you can't sleep. Stay central to be in the middle of it, or stay by the beach and go in for the big moments.

Here are the best hotels in Valencia for Las Fallas, chosen for different travelers and different priorities.

Best Location: Grand Hotel Centenari, Autograph Collection

The Grand Hotel Centenari sits on the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, opposite City Hall, which is exactly where the daily mascletà goes off at 2 p.m. During Fallas, tens of thousands of people pack that square for it. Staying here means you can watch from the hotel's doorstep and walk away the moment it ends, instead of fighting the crowds to get in and out.

It's a 5-star hotel in a 1920s Art Deco building, with an all-day restaurant with live piano and jazz, a rooftop terrace bar and a lobby cocktail bar.

Best Value: Hostal Venecia

Here's the best-kept secret of Fallas lodging: Hostal Venecia is on the very same square, at Plaza del Ayuntamiento 3, and some of its rooms overlook it. Don't let the word hostal fool you. It's a stylish, simple hotel with private rooms that guidebooks consistently praise for value, friendly service and location.

Normal rates can start around €60 a night, and while Fallas pushes every price in the city up, you're getting a front-row location for a fraction of what the big hotels charge. Amenities are limited, so think of it as a place to sleep between mascletàs, not a place to lounge.

Best for Families: Hotel Las Arenas Balneario Resort

With children, the smartest Fallas strategy is to sleep outside the noise. Hotel Las Arenas is a restored 1898 grand hotel right on Las Arenas beach, far enough from the center that nights are calm, but close enough to take a taxi or the tram in for a mascletà or the parades.

It's a 5-star with a spa and hydrotherapy circuit, heated and outdoor pools including a children's pool, and the beachfront promenade right outside for burning off energy. Kids get the spectacle in doses, and everyone gets a proper night's sleep.

Luxury: MYR Hotel Palacio Vallier

MYR Hotel Palacio Vallier is a restored 19th-century palace on the Plaza de Manises, steps from the cathedral, with Art Deco interiors and a site that dates back to Roman Valencia. It's a 5-star from a small Valencian hotel group, and it feels local rather than corporate.

There's a Lladró suite, a restaurant, and a rooftop terrace bar, which during Fallas is a wonderful place to watch the city light up at night. You're in the old town, close to the Virgin's floral offering in the Plaza de la Virgen, but on a slightly calmer square than the Ayuntamiento.

Most Unique: Caro Hotel

Caro Hotel occupies the former palace of the Marqués de Caro in the old town, steps from the cathedral, and what makes it unforgettable is that pieces of Valencia's ancient city walls are built right into the design. You sleep surrounded by more than 2,000 years of the city's history.

It's a 5-star with individually designed rooms, an outdoor pool and its acclaimed restaurant, Sucede. During Fallas, coming back from the noise and fire outside to those quiet, ancient stone walls is a stay you'll talk about for years.

Not Sure Yet? Search All Valencia Hotels

If none of these fit your exact dates or budget, Stay22 lets you search all available accommodation in Valencia in one place. For Fallas, search as early as you can, because the center sells out.
